Pure Racing is a highscool F1 team that works from Brentwood Borough High School. F1 is a program where highschool students make miniature cars to race against each other, while also managing the logistics of having a team.

What we do

We are a team of highschool students at Brentwood High School in Pittsburgh, PA. We belong to the F1 team called Pure Racing. This website serves as a homepage for all information about us.

Designing the Car

Before we can do any racing, we need a car. We design a car on paper then move it to the computer for testing.

Simulating the Car

Once the car is on the computer, we put it in a simulated wind tunnel to see how aerodynamic it is. Then we go back, fix any issues, and try again.

Manufacturing the Car

Once the car is fully designed on the computer, we need to physically produce the car. We put it into a machine that cuts it out of a block of wood.

Painting the Car

Once the car is cut out, we paint it. This both makes it look nice and ensures that we are as heavy as possible, which makes the car go faster.

Beyond the Car

Not only do we have to make a car, but part of the competition is managing a team. We need to make our own logo, find our own sponsors, and ensure each team member is doing their job correctly.

Making the Logo

To establish our brand and get sponsors, we need to make a logo that corresponds to our team. We also use team colors.

Finding Sponsors

We also need to pay for anything the team wants and needs, like uniforms. We find local sponsors to help us pay for these.

Manage the Team

We have a very limited amount of time to get everything done. Therefore, we need a real team dynamic with a project manager who ensures everything is on time.

Other Projects

In addition to the car, we also need to make other things. This website, the Pit Display, and portfolios all need to be completed alongside the car.
